Thousands of MPO teachers-employees working in Natore’s Lalpur upazila staged a protest march and rally demanding 20 percent increase in house rent and medical allowance. On Sunday (19.10.2025), the teachers-employees gathered in front of the Upazila Parishad building after taking out a protest procession from the Upazila Parishad premises, after circumambulating the important areas including Gopalpur market and railway gate. At the end of the meeting, a memorandum containing the demands was given to the Upazila Executive Officer.
Upazila Mohrakaya Degree Pass and Honors College Principal Dr. Under the chairmanship of Ismat Hossain, Principal of Gopalpur Adarsh Mahila Degree College Belal Hossain, Superintendent of Paikpara Madrasa Abul Kalam Azad, Assistant Professor of Gopalpur Degree College Mostafizur Rahman, Assistant Teacher of Moharkaya Newpara Vocational Institute Monjira Khatun, Akhchashi leader Anshar Ali Dulal and others spoke in the gathering.
The speakers announced a strike in educational institutions and participation in the teachers’ movement in Dhaka until the demands are met.
